Wat Rong Khun, better known as the White Temple - one of the most unusual and memorable churches of northern Thailand and all over the country as a whole.

Its construction began in 1996 and will be completed, according to the author Chalermchaya Kositpipata only after 60-90 years after his death. For him, the White Temple - the project of a lifetime, your own good luck charm. Chalermchai is a freelance artist, sculptor and architect. He builds a temple on their own funds and refuses on principle to the help of sponsors, to not go to anybody about it.

According to the author, Wat Rong Khun is the abode of Buddha in the world, and it is difficult to doubt his words. All kind temple affirms its divine nature. It is made entirely in white, and each element is decorated with tiny glass tiles. The temple seemed to fly in the air thanks to this technique.

Impressive and ideological content of Wat Rong Khun. Inside the main building are unusual paintings handmade. Next to the traditional Buddhist motifs are depicted space shuttles, "Alien," "SpongeBob" twin towers and many other symbols of modern life.

At the temple is an art gallery, where works Chalermchaya Kositpipata. He worked for many years in his unique style, his paintings, statues and other creations no longer be confused with anything.
