Not far from the monastery of the Holy Trinity is an Orthodox monastery Gouverneto, also known as the Lady of the Angels. This temple is located on the Akrotiri peninsula. There is speculation that the monastery was built by a very wealthy man in 1548 (possibly in 1573), but to date the supporting documents could not be found. Initially, the monastery was built in the Venetian style, but over time, the architecture of the monastery have been added to some elements of the baroque.

In those days, the monastery building was used also for defensive purposes. Externally similar to the monastery of Gouverneto palace with towers. It is surrounded by a massive fortress with 50 monastic cells, which are located on two floors. In the middle of the courtyard there is a church with two chapels on the tenth saint. According to some historical sources, in the sixteenth century monastery ruled Mitrofanis Fasidonis former sailor who, after serving in the Venetian fleet led a monastic life. Local authorities are very respectful he was treated and allowed to engage in organizational activities of the monastery. During the period of Venetian domination and leadership Mitrofanisa Fasidonisa it was one of the best monasteries, whose territory is home to about 50 monks.

In 1821 the monastery was attacked by the Turks. Most of the monks was brutally murdered, and plundered the monastery. During the Second World War, the monastery was almost destroyed by the German invaders. In 2005, the monks resumed the restoration of the monastery Gouverneto and the surrounding area in order to preserve all the charm of this beautiful historical monument. At the moment in the monastery of Gouverneto is home to only 3 monks.
