Fortress Zhebrak is not in the same city and in the surrounding area. This is not a complete lock, and its ruins are not restored after the great fire in these parts in 1532. Now the remains of the castle Zebrak look very romantic and attract many tourists. They are ennobled, planted controller that collects money for access to a large tower, where the observation deck. From there you enjoy magnificent views on the town of Žebrák and Točník the neighboring castle, and the forests surrounding them.
Being among the ruined walls, looking at the two surviving powerful towers - silent witnesses of its former greatness, could not help think about the history of the castle Zebrak.
According to local chronicles, the fortress was built in the XIII century. The masters of the castle were the great men of the family Buzitsey who built this fortress to the defensive end, and themselves been here very rarely, preferring to live in the other castle in Waldeck. But the good position of the fortress, it was noted by the Czech rulers, not just stop here on the way to Prague. This led to the fact that soon they took over the castle Zebrak which so anyone and not transferred to the destruction of the fortress.
It often took the foreign rulers. Under the arches of the castle history was made, conducted important negotiations, and was even awarded Cheb world. But gradually the castle were interested less and less, it is destroyed, required sustained attention, but he never received. Soon, next to the fortress was erected another, dubbed Točník and the castle overlooked for a long time, and after the fire and did not prefer to think of the destruction of property. Such is the sad story of the fortress Zhebrak.
