Romantic Kokořín Castle is located in the protected forest Kokořín Valley. This beautiful castle is surrounded with many legends and always inspired creative people, who often mentioned it in his writings.

Once at the site of the castle Kokořín was a powerful, well-fortified Gothic stronghold knight Okoř. The fame of the inaccessibility of the local castle sold far beyond the local land. In 1320, the castle has learned one of the richest men of his time - Haneke Burke. He bought the castle and became dostaivat and strengthen it. After his death, the castle became a pass from hand to hand until it became prey to robbers. "Forest brothers", of course, it is not worried about the state of the old walls and did not pay any attention to their repair. Kokořín Castle acquired a bad name, he tried to go around on distant roads, to avoid becoming a victim of a robbery. When a robber was over, the castle has turned into picturesque ruins. In the XVII century it was completely safe, so its walls and then it was possible to meet meditative young men with clipboards and pencils, that in silent delight looked at all this splendor.

In 1894, the destruction of the castle stopped since it was bought by a businessman Vaclav Spacek, who gave a romantic view of the castle and made it his residence.

The castle is decorated with two towers, the highest of which you can climb to see the building of the palace walls and Belvedere. The palace kept meeting of antique furniture, pottery and weapons.
