Villanova - one of the quarters of the Sardinian city of Cagliari, situated outside the historic center, but no less interesting. This and the neighboring districts were designed and built after the Second World War, but here you can also find the monuments of culture and architecture, which have become popular tourist attractions, and enjoy the colorful scenery.

In the town of San Lyuchifero is eponymous church, and is visible near Early Christian basilica of San Saturnino - one of the oldest churches of Sardinia. It draws attention to the snow-white church of Nostra Signora di Bonaria the monastery - the name is reminiscent of the medieval legends of shipwrecks and miracles, what happened after the happy discovery of the icon of the Virgin Mary. The castle of San Michele and the hill, the territory of which will soon be transformed into an archaeological park, the history of Cagliari is closely intertwined with the dramatic story of the aristocrats, who once lived here.

In the sacristy of the Church of Nostra Signora di Bonaria has a collection of miniature ships and thematic canvases, telling about the faith of seamen in miraculous acts of its patron saint. And in the district of La Vega are located Museum of Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, and the Museum of geology, paleontology and geography with an extensive collection of interesting artifacts.

Villanova and nearby neighborhoods can be of interest for shoppers in April and May on Viale Diaz opened pavilion of the International Fair «Fiera Internazionale», and activities such as Turisport, Sardhotel, Christmas Fair, Fair of furniture and design are held regularly throughout the year.
