Brest Art Museum - a newly opened branch of the Brest museum. It is located in a renovated barracks south of the Brest Fortress. The opening took place 17 May 2002.

Despite its youth, the museum has an impressive collection of contemporary art. It stores more than 2 million units of painting, sculpture, graphics, decorative and applied arts. Such a large collection gathered in the museum, starting with the 1950s. In 2002 it was decided to transfer the collection to the new premises.

Restoration of the South barracks of the Brest Fortress held under the supervision of the architect of Minsk Brest V.I.Bakaeva project architect VN Kazakova. The museum has 10 exhibition halls, common rooms of 1,100 square meters.

The collection of contemporary fine art is constantly updated. It is replenished mainly works of Belarusian artists living outside the country.

The museum holds exhibitions of painters, sculptors, folk artists, and willingly accepts guests from other cities and states with their most interesting exhibitions and expositions.

The museum organizes interesting excursions are led by experienced guides on the theme: "History of the region in the works of the masters of Brest", "Traditional crafts Brest XIX-XX centuries", "The Great Patriotic War in the paintings of artists." The museum also conducts educational work among schoolchildren, organizes competitions and master classes Belarusian folk crafts, for both adults and for the smallest visitors.
