Dazzlingly beautiful temple Ratchapradit was originally a temple of King Mongkut Rama IV or in the period from 1851 to 1868. At that time he occupied an area of 2 paradise earth.

The main purpose was to develop the wool Ratchapradit Thammayyut sect founded by King as an offshoot of Buddhism with the preservation of ancient dogma. Only two of the temple of the capital were brought to the work of the sect: Wat and Wat Ratchaburana Ratchapradit. After the expansion of the temple and the acquisition of the neighboring plantations, Rama IV gave him a new name Ratchapradit Sathitmahasimaram.

Inside the main building (viharn) are magnificent frescoes showing the viewer the usual special royal ceremony and tells the epic story of the solar eclipses and the movement of the sun across the sky. At the base of the central statue of Buddha in the temple houses the remains of King Mongkut, its great founder, who still remembers and honors all the Thai people.

The temple survived numerous gifts to King Rama IV of his friends in high places throughout the world, including French ceiling fans and light fixtures, lamps in the English style, unique watches from Germany.

The architecture of Wat Ratchapradit clearly seen both Thai and Khmer influence. On its territory you will see how Thai gold chedi (stupa), reminiscent of a drop, and Khmer phrangi (stupa), a distance similar to corn on the cob.

Disposition of the temple are so good that despite the passing of time, it is not sags, and whatever the heat on the street, inside the air stays cool without the use of modern fans and air conditioners.

The design of the church is very elegant, it is not rich in complex characters and fine details, but is decorated with beautiful mosaic mirror in green and blue colors and carvings.
