Palace chitralada or as it is otherwise called, the royal villa chitralada, the residence of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and Queen Sirikit at Bangkok.
King Rama IX was the first monarch of the Chakri Dynasty, who settled in the palace chitralada. He moved here from the main royal palace after the death of his elder brother King Rama VIII.
The palace covers an area of 4 square kilometers, constantly guarded palace guard. The entire perimeter is surrounded by a deep moat. The main building on the territory of the palace consists of two floors, it was founded by King Rama VI, as well as the whole palace. The palace is chitralada school, which was established in 1958 for the children of the royal family. Perhaps it is the closed and exclusive schools in the country.
In the palace there is a cozy garden with ornamental trees and stones. This is a great place to relax after exploring the active capital. However, you should pay attention to the appearance. As in all the churches and palaces of Bangkok, it is taken to close the shoulders and knees.
As King Bhumibol Adulyadej is interested in agriculture and rural industry, "chitralada" became the name of several product brands in Thailand.
