Veykherst Place - a manor, an old mansion of the XVI century and gardens, especially the XX century, located near the town Ardingli in West Sussex. The gardens are part of the Royal Botanic Gardens, and occupy an area of ​​two square kilometers. Basically, the gardens were designed by Gerald Loder, the first Baron Veykherstom, who bought the estate in 1903 and '33 dedicated planning, cultivation and care of the garden. His successor was Sir Henry Price, who in 1963 bequeathed the gardens of the state, and in 1965 came under the care of the gardens of the Royal Botanic Gardens. Now Veykherst Place is owned by the National Trust of Great Britain.

In Veykherst Place grows the largest Christmas Tree UK - gigantic redwood tree 35 meters high, which comes on the eve of Christmas 1800 light bulbs.

There is a national collection of different types of birch, beech, St. John's wort and Skimma. Also Veykherst Place is Millennium Seed Bank - the repository of seeds of various plant species. Seeds are dried and packed into glass vessels and stored in underground storage at -20 degrees Celsius. Experts say that such seeds are suitable for cultivation for many years, which will allow the plant to recover, disappeared from the face of the earth. Seed Bank was founded in 2000, so he called the Millennium Seed Bank. It is an international project, it involved many different countries.
