Church of Sts. Nicholas in Vukovar is the Serbian Orthodox church in the eastern part of Croatia. This church is one of the oldest buildings of the Serb community in the north of the Sava River in the Baroque style. St. Nicholas Church - nave church with an apse and a belfry on the main facade.
The central part of the main facade is decorated by a single and doubled pilasters, cornices wavy line. The slender tower, which is enhanced by the edge of the pilasters, ends with baroque arch with a lantern. The vaulted nave of the church is divided into four sections, separated, in turn, wide archivolts resting on Ionic capitals. The altar has polusvodchaty dome.
The current church was built in the period from 1733 to 1737 on the site of the old wooden church, built in 1690. In 1941-1942, the church was closed and looted. In 1991 the church was blown up by local Croat armed forces. To date, external damage eliminated, the church was reconstructed, the interior restoration is still ongoing.
