Fort St. Elmo is the main fortifications of the city and is located at the tip of Valletta. During the Great Siege in 1565, the fort was badly damaged by bombing and after the Turkish victory was almost completely rebuilt. Fort also badly damaged during World War II. Now it houses the National War Museum.
In the museum you can see the German torpedoes and torpedo boats, Italian and German anti-tank guns, military uniforms of the twentieth century, masks and cross King George complained Malta April 15, 1942.
