In mid-August 2006, the central street of Ulyanovsk held the first festival of blacksmith art international scale. Masters almost forgotten craft of twenty eight cities in Russia and abroad, among whom were well-deserved artistic blacksmiths forge and very young artists on the metal, exchanging experiences, sharing the secrets of art and demonstrating their skills. For several days the city has turned into one big forge: in front of the audience astonished by clatter of hammers, anvils sets came out a grand design of "Wind authority."

The authors of the ideas that have turned into a real Mecca Ulyanovsk Blacksmithing, blacksmith made by local craftsmen at home with the support of the administration. Festival «Singing metal" went so colorful and festive, it was decided that such events take place every two years, thus opening a new page of blacksmithing skill. Later festivals attended by masters from Italy, Poland, Finland, Australia and the Czech Republic, which gave the festival an international status.

The culmination of the festival was the installation of the design "Windshield body" height of eight meters and a weight of about two tons with the emblem of the city near the building of the regional philharmonic society.
