Anastasov monastery is located in the eponymous village Anastasova Odoevskogo area. On the basis of the time of its details remain in the monastery, "Stern" a book that was given to Prince Alexander and Michael Herman Vorotynsk abbot of the monastery in 1558 According to this document, the builders of the monastery were Prince Ivan Mikhailovich Vorotynsky and his spouse Anastasia.

The monastery was built in 1550-ies. After their Vorotynsky Ivan victory over the Tatars at Tula, in 1517 and, most likely, in gratitude for the victory. Many historians believe that the name of the monastery got its name stroitelnitsy, Duchess Anastasia. But in this case it would be called Anastasin. Another group of researchers are inclined to believe that the monastery called "Anastasia" by the name of its first abbot - abbot Anastasia; hence the many documents it is called simply "Nastasov."

At the founding of the monastery Vorotynsk he was given into the possession of the village: Martynovskaya, Rymnino, Filimonovo Podromanovo.

Initially the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin was made of wood, in 1673 was built a stone church. It was built abbot of Iona. According to the "Chronicle" in 1674 the monastery was built stone bell tower. The place was chosen with high artistic taste. The massive volume of the building of the church as if sinking into the gently sloping hill and blend in the colorful landscape of the river bank. The architecture of the temple strict and watchful concentration characteristic of the mid-17th century. When the Tula land still remembered the times of Tatar raids. Temple alien cheerfulness and conviviality.

Temple had the shape of a rectangle, above the main altar stood a square with five domes. The ground floor was made of untreated pletnyaka. It may have been intended for monastic treasuries, and, perhaps, for the monastic cells of monks - in two rooms on the ground floor are traces of human habitation. The walls of the church are rather thick, in one of them was arranged passage that connected the kitchen with the Chapel of the Holy Martyr Catherine, another move was made with the arches of the church to the elevation of the heads of the church.

Belfry placed on the north side of the church and connected to it a gallery. On the second floor bell tower is a room with a strange name "kazёnki." Perhaps it was something like a watchtower and served as the treasury of the monastery.

On the history of the monastery and tell Synodicon "contribution book." There are mentioned donors, builders and abbots. The most prominent Synodicon Kolupaeva. This manuscript 1691 bound in leather. Instead of the usual "preamble" in Synodikon set out only a general commemoration of "accidents" that require special church prayers and that there is no one to remember.

Near the temple, slightly below it, it is the ancient monastery cemetery, where there was a monument citizen Odoev, Kolupaeva, who in 1612 took the oath of allegiance is not False Dmitry, and he was thrown from the tower Odoevskogo fortress. In 1716, the monastery peasants were 244 court, the majority lived in the "scarcity".

In 1722, the monastery was not a single monk, except abbot. Poverty monastery peasants, together with the termination of a major contribution to the time of Peter, reflected in the monastery's prosperity. The monastery was approaching decline. In 1764 the monastery was abolished and turned into the village Anastasova. The villages that were patrimonial possession of the monastery and is located near a village made up the parish. All parishioners were peasants engaged in agriculture and made pottery.

Temple during the period of its existence, was subjected to numerous changes. In 1840 gg.hram was painted. An old course was embedded stead in the wall punched a new move, with a wooden staircase and porch, replaced in 1883 on the stone.

The architect who built the church of the monastery Anastasova glorified the beauty and originality of Russian architecture. The architectural composition of the church used for the specific techniques of ancient architecture: a complex plan, picturesque asymmetry volumes, freedom of decision temple architecture.

With the temple relate interesting events. The codex, which belonged to the merchant Polikarpov, stating that Belev in 1805 there was a big fire, when a lot of the bells melted. At the time of the monastery in Anastasova Arsenyevsky monk came to take a few bells. Parishioners opposed to this, and on the advice of the priest Gabriel Avksentyev drove stakes of who would encroach on the property of the church. For this priest was removed from church affairs and sent to Kolomna.
