Church of St. Catherine, located in the Crimean resort of Theodosius, is one of the most beautiful sights of the city. The second name of the church - St. Catherine's Church.

Church of St. Catherine - a vivid example of Russian religious architecture, it is built in the architectural tradition of the XVII century. The basis of the church is an equilateral cross. Entrance to the temple is located on the west side and is framed by an elegant portico with belfry, decorated with low columns. Church of Sts. Catherine overshadow five domes studded with stars. The top of the temple is decorated with patterned innovative features different sizes of the same shape of domes. Light enters the church through the tall rectangular windows in the walls and through the arched windows with carved pattern located on a central golden dome. Church of Sts. Since 1901 rector of the church was the priest Andrei Kosovo. In 1920, he was arrested. It happened on the feast day of St. Catherine. After a long holding in captivity Father Andrew was shot. In 2000, the Synodal Commission decided to classify Father Andrew Kosovo canonized.
In 1937, the church, like many other Russian church was closed and turned into a warehouse. Four years later, it reopened the German occupation authorities. Since that time, it belongs to the existing churches in the Crimea.
In 1999, in St. Catherine's Church was built another temple - in the name of St. John the Baptist, which housed the Sunday school and baptistery. In 2002 he was elevated to a whole complex, which includes a room for Sunday school, methodical study, libraries and hotels.
