Along with the historic park, the remains of the ancient city of Sukhothai and Kamphaeng Phet Si Satchanalai is protected by UNESCO and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It developed in the Kingdom of Sukhothai in the period from the XIII to XV century AD Most of the historical sites in the city created from laterite, but there are also buildings from the later brick buildings.

The historic town is a Buddhist structures inside and outside the fortress wall, the length of which is 0, 2 7, 2 kilometers. Residential buildings have not reached our days as created from combustible natural materials.

Wat Phra Kaew was the central temple of the ancient city, now it also occupies the central part of the historical park. It is assumed that the temple served as a royal palace and a place for public gatherings, monks living in it are not expected.

The second in size and importance is the Wat Phra That, he created a unique style of Kamphaeng Phet. On its territory preserved ancient chedi (stupa) with a base diameter of 15 meters, its construction was used as laterite and brick.

In the temple of Wat Phra Non, you can see the old baths with lots of columns. It is surprising that each column is made of a single solid laterite diameter of 1, 1 and a height of 6 m, 4 m. It is the largest element of the architecture of this kind has ever existed in Thailand. The central premise (viharn), where once stood a huge statue of the reclining Buddha, completely destroyed.

The Wat Phra Si Iryabot preserved only baths and a statue of Buddha in the lotus position, the rest of the splendor was destroyed and plundered. Ca Mont was surrounded by high earthen wall of the palace with a cozy courtyard and a lake. Unfortunately, up to now the building has been preserved.

Wat Phra Singh, is supposed to have been built during the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya states and combines both style architecture. Chedi on its territory has a square base with arches on all four sides. In front of ubosot (premises for religious ceremonies) remained ornamental lion and nude (mythical serpent).

Wat Chang Rop is a large temple, situated on a hilltop. The central chedi made in the style of Sri Lanka, but its upper part was damaged over time. The base of the chedi is decorated with figures of 68 elephants, including surviving elements of stucco also see the outlines of the demons and dancers.
