The house-museum named after Peyo Yavorov is situated in the center of the town of Chirpan. He officially received the status of the museum in 1954, the 40th anniversary of the death of Peyo Yavorov, and in 1977 the museum was declared a monument of architecture and construction. Even before receiving the official status of the museum, visitors have visited this house. Famous Bulgarian poet Geo Milev visited him in 1924 - 10 years have passed since the death of Yavorov. Peyo Yavorov - a native of the town of Chirpan, born January 1 (old style) in 1878, he lived in the father's house to the 17th anniversary. Yavorov known not only active literary and political activities. He took part in the national movement for the liberation of Bulgaria, Macedonia and in the Balkan War. Peyo Yavorov wrote more than 160 poems, which have been collected in three books and translated into 20 languages. Therefore it is considered one of the first symbolist literature in Bulgaria.
The house-museum presents the true situation of life of the family - the kitchen, living room and so-called "Peyovoy 'room. In the living room, or the average museum visitors can see a portrait of the famous Bulgarian revolutionaries who stood for the liberation from the Ottoman yoke - Hadji Dimitar and Stefan Karadzha, it shows the attitude of families to a revolution. The exhibition hall of the museum was opened in 1973. It exhibits a collection of photographs and objects that represent the life and work of the poet in different periods. In 1968, in the town of Chirpan there was a tradition - the annual January days devoted to Peyo Yavorov. Unfold it in the writer's birthday - January 13th.
