Vracheshsky monastery is located near the village of Vrachish, to the monastery leads a mountain trail. This monastery - one of the largest in the country, because it is home to 8 persons (3 novices and 5 nuns), who observe the tradition of Athos and remember (and sing) the ancient chants.

It is believed that a settlement was founded men are in the XII century. The Turks destroyed the holy abode twice: first in the XV, then in the XVIII century. In the latest raid, the Turks also destroyed the famous portrait studio, founded by Peyo.

Restoration of the monastery was carried out in 1890 by donations from local residents. Monastery rebuilt on the spot where the Virgin dreamed Atanas Ovcharov: digging up the ground, he found a few items, including the miraculous icon of the Mother of God Vracheshskoy (now in the church of St. Clement), and the remains of an ancient chandeliers and incense.

In 1891, the monastery complex was added to the stone church - one-nave basilica with beskupolnaya porch. The first inhabitants of the monastery after its revival began Ignatius, who became famous as an ascetic. With his death, the monastery once again empty. Since 1935, he settled here nun Euphemia and several novices, after which the monastery was transformed into a female.

In the XX century it was built in camera housing and the Chapel of St. Kliment Ohridski.

Dedicated to the abode of the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste, which was a reflection of the patron saint's day. And the second most important day of Nativity of the Virgin is revered here.

The monastery is the tomb of Mother Cassiano, as well as relics of Saint Tryphon, Charalambos, Demetrius, St. Seraphim of Sarov, Panteleimon and a particle of the Holy Cross. It also kept the relics brought from Greece, the Forty Martyrs.
