Hradec village located in the south-western part of Bulgaria, in the community cauldron Sliven Province. According to historians, the settlement was formed after the conquest of Bulgaria by the Turks. The refugees left the city and was formed as a result of many new villages.
Often the names of towns and villages in the area associated with the names of ancient forts or other structures, once housed here for the protection of the territory from the enemy. The place name "Hradec" refers to the name of the fortress' Gradischeto "or" Kaleto ", which is located on a hill 60 meters from the river.
The village has a unique architecture: buildings are made in the style of the Renaissance. The old wooden houses and charming cobblestone streets form a sort of open-air museum, which presents many architectural masterpieces. Here is the first in Bulgaria's rural library "Hope", founded in 1869.
Walk around the neighborhood and visitors to the village will give a lot of pleasant experiences. Picturesque rolling hills, rising above silhouettes of mountains in the distance - all imbued with the spirit of romance and ancient legends. Still standing walls of the Roman fortress located in a strategically important location. At the bottom of the river Luda Kamchiya flows, which give shade in the hot summer days.
