Historical Museum on a regional scale in Sliven is one of the oldest buildings in the city center. Initially, the museum is a collection of exhibits at the popular club culture of "Dawn", which was opened to visitors in 1913. The updated exhibit "Treasures, Museum of memory" saw the light of May 12, 2008, and its opening was timed to the 130th anniversary from the moment that has been collected is the first collection of the museum. Also, this is a memorable date in view of the fact that 95 years ago was founded Sliven History Museum.

Much of the exhibition is related to the way of life of the Sliven region, since the Neolithic era. The basis of the location of all the museum exhibits is the principle theme. Thus, in the halls on the first floor, you can see samples of marble and bronze sculpture of the Roman period, with objects and ornaments made of bone - all of these items include an impressive time span: from Antiquity to the end of the Middle Ages. One of the most important archaeological sites is considered to be an ancient inscription on the pedestal praising Zeus.

Collection of tools demonstrate their craft tools on a par with the peasants, they enjoyed a period of antiquity to the Middle Ages. In the same part of the exhibition can see the bronze vessels, pottery, weapons, and implements the three epochs: bronze, ancient and medieval. All these resources have been discovered in the vicinity of Sliven.

In the halls on the second floor is a collection of copper vessels and jewelry. There is also exposed to a rare collection of different weapons belonging to the Bulgarian Revival period. Among others: P. saber hits - one of the most ardent fighters against the Turkish yoke, scimitars, flintlock firearms and weapons.

Last, the third floor - the repository of the finds from the Valley of the Thracian Kings, which were discovered in the summer of 2007. That expedition led by the famous archaeologist Georgi Kitov PhD. Here you can see all kinds of pottery, ornaments for horse ammunition, funerary objects, amphorae and more.
