Voronich - village in the Pskov region. It located at a distance of 3 km from the Pushkin Mountains. Near the river Soroti, which is located on the shore of the village of the same name. Not far from Grigorskiy park in the center of Voronich, located Voronich settlement. Now it remained only the ruins of the ancient city.

Earlier, in the 14-16 centuries, it was part of the fortifications along the southwestern border of Pskov. Voronich was an important strategic point boundary and an important trade center, a place of crossing of the trade route passing in Moscow and Pskov in the direction of Lithuania and Poland. In the 15th century in the village there were whiter than 400 yards. According to popular legend, before there were 77 churches and monasteries, which is more than in other suburbs of Pskov. At the end of the 16th century, in its heyday, during the Livonian War, the Polish troops under the leadership of their king Stefan Batory conquered the fortress, defeated it, and during his retreat completely destroyed the city. The remaining settlements as a result of subsequent raids eventually come to ruin because of his defense of the fortress and no soldiers had already been significantly weakened.

Today the fort is a large hill and the remains of the fortress. At its peak in the south-west side is high and steep shaft. Previously, the entire hill was surrounded by a high wooden wall. In the corners of a tower. The castle gates were two couples, which approached the sides of the road. Even today you can see traces of them that have survived after a few centuries. The castle has a warehouse of weapons and ammunition, as well as food. Once inside were so-called siege crate that served as a refuge for the temporary nature of the locals, when the city of impending danger.

The fortress itself was previously two temples - Ilyinsky and Egoryevsky. None of them survived. However, today you can see the surviving part of the old basement Yegoryevsky temple. The building itself Yegoryevsky temple burned down in 1913. Also survived fence of stone and ancient stone crosses, which belong to the 15-16 century. They were restored in 1984. At the entrance to the courtyard of the church can be seen here folded core of ancient stone tools found during excavations.

On the mound Voronich were buried Trigorskoe home, located next door to Voronich. These burials were along the east side of the altar of the temple Yegoryevsky.
