On the banks of the Vltava river a little away from all the city's attractions stands Anezhsky Monastery - once quite influential women's monastery, which is controlled by the sister of King Wenceslas I. In principle, it is a loving brother to her and built the monastery at the beginning of the XIII century, which bought the building of the old hospital.
The case of the monastery was built in the Gothic style. During the construction of the monastery this was something new and surprising.
The monastery flourished for several centuries. Its main body was added to the room that housed the Order of Minorites. In the crypt Przhemyshlovichey found their solace and Agnes herself, and her brother and her nephew Przhemyshl Otokar II, however, then his remains were transferred to the Cathedral of St. Vitus.
In 1556, the monastery became a master of the Dominicans. They took out a complex originally ordered. The premises where the nuns used to live, continues to be used for its intended purpose, and all the other buildings, including the building of Minorite, were sold. Klarisski nuns were able to regain their monastery only in 1629. When Emperor Joseph II the monastery is finally closed, and its territory was given to the warehouses.
Only in the middle of the XX century Gothic building in the Old Town of interested, restored and presented to the National Gallery. Now there are demonstrations of medieval art objects not only the Czech Republic but also in other countries. Entrance to the museum is a branch on the street Agnes.
Monastery of St. Agnes of Bohemia is considered a cultural monument.
