Opera Theatre. Stanislaw Moniuszko is located in Poznan and is named after the famous Polish composer Stanislaw Moniuszko.

The theater building in neoclassical style was designed by architect Max Littmann from Munich. Former outdated theater building could no longer meet the requirements, so the city needed a new opera. The building was constructed in accordance with the rules of the architecture of ancient Rome. The facade is decorated with various statues, the theater became a symbol of Pegasus. Elegant hall with ornate walls and a large crystal chandelier designed for 1000 spectators.

The first performance - "The Magic Flute" in . A . Mozart was shown in 1910 .  Nine years later, the theater was purchased by the Polish authorities, and quickly became one of the most important music scenes of the country .  The first artistic director was appointed Dolzykegov Adam, who held this post until 1922 .  One of the most prominent leaders was Zygmunt Latoshevsky, whose activity was interrupted by the war .  It was during his theater was able to reach a level comparable to modern European scenes .  The repertoire of the first two decades was formed from the works of Polish composers, as well as the classic Italian and French opera .  In the prewar years, the Opera premiere of the opera "The Sicilian Vespers" by Verdi, Puccini's "Swallow", "Così fan tutte" by Mozart and others .  During the war, the theater building received only minor damage, so in the post-war years, he quickly resumed his work .  In 1949 the theater was renamed in honor of the composer Stanislaw Moniuszko .

The theater season runs from mid-September to mid-June, in addition, held annually in the Theater of the Polish-German Festival Ballet.
