The unique monument - Panorama "Pleven Epopee 1877" - was opened in 1977 in honor of the centenary of liberation of Pleven from Ottoman rule. The imposing building is located in the heart of the battlefield times of the Russian-Turkish conflict of 1877-1878 and is located in a park-museum named after war hero, the Adjutant General MD Skobelev. The building looks like a truncated cone, raised on four stylized bayonets. Four rings encircle the magnificent building - the top three represent the three assault on the city, and the fourth, bottom, with bayonets - its subsequent blockade.
The building houses four halls: introductory, Panoramic, Diaramny, Final.
In the introductory hall are works of art illustrating the history of Bulgaria and the course of Russian-Turkish war.
Panoramic Hall, having a diameter of 40 meters, offers to the audience epic (woven from flax with only one connecting seam) and a height of 15 115 meters in length. It depicts events that occurred during the third assault of the town of Pleven. On the creation of paintings of Russian-Bulgarian working group of artists under the direction of the painter Nikolai Ovechkin. To create the proper atmosphere the lower part of the panorama is the footstool on which the copies of items and weapons at the time.
The painting shows a diorama halls the final battle for the city in the area of the river Vit December 10, 1877 The size of the paintings - 5 meters in height and 17 in length.
And finally, the final room. There are two paintings depicting the act of capitulation of Osman Pasha and the transition of the army of the Russian Empire after the Balkan Mountains.
