Natural Park "Persina" is located on the northern border of Bulgaria, along the Danube. The park of about 22 hectares. "Persina" captures all the islands in Bulgaria, located in this part of the Danube: Magaretsy, Piersyn, Shturetsa, Gholam Byrzina, Milka, Limit, Kitka, Srednyak, Garden, finger and Lakyt.

It is the only natural resource to the Bulgarian side of the Danube, which is under protection. The park received protected status by order of the Ministry of Environment and Waters in December 2000. There is a need not only to maintain, but also to restore the rivers and swamps of the Danube, in particular, it was important to preserve the natural state of a large number of islands, which are located within the park. That's what was the reason for the decree in 2000.

Named in honor of the park Persina island, which is also included in it and takes the 4th place among the largest of all the islands of the Danube.

The most important ecosystems of the Natural Park - a Danube forest, which is filled with water, and other areas that are under threat of flooding. Especially to maintain the park like set up protected zones under special control.

For tourists in the natural park of special environmental trails formed where there is a place for relaxation and special shelters where you can quietly watch birds. By the way, the island complex of the Belém recognized as one of the fifty significant sites for the Bulgarian ornithology. For this reason, in September 2002, it was included in the Ramsar Convention.

In "Persina", as mentioned above, there are protected areas, their 6: Reserves "Persinskie swamp", "Kitka" and "Milk", located on the islands with the same names, "Kaikusha" natural attraction "Piersyn - East "and the natural landscape in the area of" floating ".

In addition to the rich natural landscape in this natural park, and you can see a large number of historical monuments - churches, castles, objects of archaeological research and cemeteries.
