Crown - the town on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese. Koroni is about a 45-50 minute drive from the city of Kalamata and is located at the western end of the Messinian Bay. In the Middle Ages Koroni it was one of the most strategically important Venetian colony in the territory of modern Greece, because he was on the route of ships from Venice to the East.

Today the crown - a modern resort with good infrastructure. Walking through the narrow streets of the city, winds through the hillside will bring a lot of fun and will plunge into the enchanting atmosphere of a traditional Greek village. In Koroni and its surroundings you will find many nice beaches where you can not only soak up the Greek sunshine, but also a variety of water sports. The most popular is a magnificent sandy beach of Saga. Nightclubs and discos Koroni will not be bored and lovers of active evening pastime.

Among the most interesting attractions Koroni special attention certainly deserves rises on a picturesque hill medieval fortress. An original fortress was still on the ruins of an ancient Byzantine city Asini approximately 6-7 centuries, and during the rule of the Venetians in the crown has undergone significant architectural changes. The once majestic fortification relatively well preserved to this day and is an important historical and architectural monument. From the top of the fortress walls fantastic panoramic views.

Of particular interest are the Byzantine church of Agia Sofia - three-nave basilica with a colonnade, the church of St. Harlambosa - a spacious single-nave church with a wooden roof, built at the beginning of the second period of the Venetian occupation (originally was consecrated in honor of St. Rocco), and the Church of Our Lady Elestria, dated to the end 19th - the beginning of the 20th century.
