The small church of St. Julia set at the entrance to the city cemetery. It is located on the corner of the streets of Kiev and Przhemyslovoy. This church is considered one of the oldest sacred buildings Pardubice not only, but also the entire region. It was built before 1295, when the first mention of it in the documents that have come down to our times. The church was part of a Dominican monastery, in the territory of which, according to some historians, the parents were buried famous churchman Arnošt of Pardubice.
In 1421, during the Hussite wars, the temple was badly damaged. From it remained in ruins. Local residents within ninety subsequent years did not have time to rebuild the church. Only in 1512 it was rebuilt in the Gothic style.
In the period from 1729 to 1754 years, the temple premises occupied by officials of the local court, who did not care about the safety of interior and church plate. That is why the church desperately needs renovation, which managed to make only in 1857.
At the beginning of the XX century for the reconstruction of the church he was invited by a famous local architect B. Dvorak, who discovered the ancient murals on the facade under a thick layer of plaster.
Last presently repairing the temple took place in 2007-2008.
In 1754, the temple saint Julia stone bell tower was added, which has not survived to the present day. Instead, after the First World War, we built a wooden tower still looms in the cemetery. Naturally, it was reconstructed in the 80-ies of XX century, fortified walls and changed the shape of the roof.
