Holy Hill is part of the town of Olomouc - it is located just 8 km from the historic center. By the foot of the hill, a height of 412 m, goes urban transport, so the round trip will not cause any difficulties. This is a unique place that must be visited during his visit to the former capital of Moravia. Firstly, because it is built luxury temple, which the Roman Pontiff John Paul II in 1995 granted the title of basilica. It is a place of pilgrimage for many Czechs, a place covered with legends of apparitions of the Virgin Mary. It is said that before the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary adorned the hill a small chapel built by the merchant Jan Adrysekom, is engaged in the wine trade. In 1669, it began construction of a grand temple that we see today.
Temple of the facade is turned towards the Hradisko monastery. This was done specifically to the priest leading the service in the church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, he overshadowed the Cross and the monastery.
At the same Holy Hill is another attraction of Olomouc - the local zoo, which is considered one of the largest in the territory of the Czech state. The zoo was founded as a large aquarium, which is inhabited by the representatives of the marine world. There are even a few sharks.
The zoo is an observation tower and a height of 27 meters, which was built in the 70s of XX century. From the tower you can see not only the whole zoo and its inhabitants, but also an array of Jesenik Mountains, and of the Holy Hill neighborhood - urban neighborhoods of Olomouc.
