The heart of the town Javornik is an old castle, which is also called Jansky Vrhom, which translated from Czech means "Hill of St. John." The fortress is indeed located on a hill, with its walls offering magnificent views of the surrounding area. Once owned the castle church fathers who are domiciled in Wroclaw, Poland. They came here only in the summer, but that does not mean that they did not appreciate the comfort and coziness. That is why the state of the fortress followed and constantly repaired, avoiding destruction.
The name of the castle - Javornik - the bishops are not very happy, so they renamed it in honor of a particularly revered saint - St. John the Baptist. This happened at the beginning of the XVI century. The name stuck, and now it is underneath the castle appears in all the guidebooks.
Interestingly, the Wroclaw bishops owned the castle until 1945. She repeatedly gave bail, but never redeemed.
