Monastery of John the Baptist - is one of the most prominent shrines of the city of Novosibirsk and a popular place of pilgrimage for many orthodox.
The history of the monastery began in 1993, when a believer Maecenas decided to build a cemetery near the temple in memory of his deceased son. The construction of the temple took place quickly and in the same year he made his solemn consecration in honor of St. Eugene. After a while, the monastery began to gather people from all over the country who want to dedicate their lives to God and monasticism. In 2001, built temple of Archangel Michael Monastery of Zaeltsovsky moved to the area and got a piece of land near the temple, which began construction of the buildings necessary for the monastery.
