From ancient Mozhaisk Kremlin preserved only high embankments. And on the hill stands the Cathedral of St. Nicholas, built in the middle of the XIX century in place of the collapsed eponymous temple of the XIV century. The church was built in the pseudo-Gothic style masters M.F.Kazakova school. The brick building with a rich white-stone decor includes fragments of older buildings: on the south wall, you can see the remains of Nicholas Gate, completed Gate Church of the XVII century, where the image of St. Nicholas of Mozhaisk. In the basement of the church remains of the walls of the Kremlin of the XVI century.

Near the cathedral is four-tiered bell tower, built in the early XIX century, as well as a small one-domed church of St. Peter and Paul, built in 1852 on the site of a collapsed Elias Cathedral.
