Palace of Fine Arts - Opera House, located in the heart of the Mexican capital. This is the largest building in the world, ranked one of the most valuable species of marble - Carrara. Palace featuring the amazing splendor of decoration, in the style of Beaux Arts and Art Deco, is considered the most popular architectural landmark of Mexico City.

The theater building was designed in 1904 by an Italian Adam Boar. The construction lasted for 30 years and was interrupted by the Mexican Revolution, although the opening of the Palace planned for 1908. The inside of the walls are decorated with murals of Mexican artist Diego Rivera, Siqueiros and Jose Alfaro Clemente Orozco. The most famous fresco is considered a philosophical picture of Rivera's "Man at the Crossroads."

The building rests on a steel frame. For the completion of the building used elements of the pre-Columbian era, neoclassical and art nouveau.
  Dome Theater Italian marble, on the largest of the domes sits a Mexican eagle, and around it are figures representing the art of drama. Finished interior is mainly engaged in the artist Federico Mariscal. His works are in the style of Art Deco.

Fresco "The birth of our nation" and "Modern Mexico" are on the second floor of the Palace. They were painted by Rufino Tamayo, he drew them in 1952-1953. On the walls of the third floor flaunt frescoes José Clemente Orozco. In one of the most famous paintings he painted Catharsis, denouncing the war and the decline of the bourgeoisie. Here is the famous and scandalous Rivera's mural "Man - Lord of the Universe", which is opposed by John D. Rockefeller, ordered the removal of similar in its Center for ideological reasons. The rest of the murals are protected by the Museum of the Palace of Fine Arts, which periodically organize exhibitions. The museum is located on the top floor of the Palace.
