Military-Historical Museum of resistance fighters Morro de Arica is located in the historic center of Lima, capital of Peru. The museum was opened in 1975 in the house where he was born and grew up, Colonel Francisco Coronel Bolognese. This building was built on top of Solar at the site of an old mansion of the governor Francisco Pizarro Juan del Mesa.
The main function of the museum is to preserve the memory of the heroes who sacrificed their lives in defense of Peru in the Pacific War. The museum building has two floors and is divided into 12 exhibition halls.
On the ground floor of the museum you can see the room Francisco Coronel Bolognese, which are samples of military uniforms of those times, medals and other personal belongings of Peruvian heroes who gave their lives in the Battle of Cape Morro de Arica in 1881. In the next room is a collection of original photos, documents and personal belongings of the family of Colonel Bolognese. Nearby is the exhibition devoted to the other heroes of this war - colonel Sala Joaquin Inklyan, Alfonso Ugarte and Roque Saenz Pena.
On the second floor conference room, where the annual event held in memory of those killed June 7, 1881 in the battle on the hill Moreau de Arica and celebrated the birthday of the Peruvian hero Francisco Coronel Bolognese (4 November 1816).
On the second floor you can also see the panorama of the Battle of Cape Morro de Arica, storage room of Captain Juan Guillermo Moore, who was responsible for the defense of the Fort del Morro, and the hall with the samples of weapons used by both the Chilean and Peruvian patriots.
In the courtyard of the museum you can see the guns, made in France, who took part in the battles, defending Arica canyon in the Pacific War. One of the guns, the brand Voruz, weighs about four tons and presented a set of the original preserved shells.
