Magura National Park is located in south-east Poland, near the Slovak border in the Malopolska and Podkarpackie. The park occupies a large part of the river basin Wislocki extends up to the height of the mountain Vyatkova 847 meters above sea level, captures the top of Magura, Velka Gora. The total area of ​​the national park currently stands at 194, 39 sq.km. The name of the park garnered from an array of Magura, which is the second highest peak in the reserve.

More than 90% of the park is covered by forests, which are dominated by pine. There are also meadows, pastures and swamps. The park is home to nearly 800 species of plants and 200 species of animals. Among the 59 species of plants, 12 introduced into the Polish Red Book. Here you can see barberry, fern, French rose, garlic, orchid, Siberian iris, golden lily, snowdrop and others. The park is home to over 57 species of mammals: bears, moose, wolves, wild cats, lynx, beavers, deer, bats, muskrat, otter, raccoon dogs.

The average annual temperature in the area is around 6 ° C. The amount of rainfall varies between 800-900 mm (the greatest amount of precipitation falls in July).
