Dongo - a small town, which lies on the northwestern shore of Lake Como between Gravedona and Musso at the mouth of the river Albano. Milan - 70 km, to the town of Como - 40 km. It was April 27, 1945 Dongo-year Urbano Laddzaro and other guerrillas captured Benito Mussolini and a number of high-ranking Nazi officers while trying to cross the Swiss border.

Today Dongo - is a quiet coastal town, which preserved a number of interesting attractions. So, it is necessary to explore the majestic Palazzo del Vescovo - Bishop's Palace, built in the 17th century by order of the Marquises Cosson. In 1854 it was bought by the Bishop of Como, Carlo Romano, a century and a half later, the palace became the property of the City Hall. Shortly thereafter it began the restoration of this grand monument of architecture, which means sacrificing many residents of Dongo. Today in the Palazzo del Vescovo, retained its historical name, is located Municipal School of Music «Alto Lario» and the International Academy of piano.

From religious buildings Dongo can note the parish church of Santo Stefano, the church of Santa Maria in Martinique and the church of Madonna delle Lacrime next to the Franciscan Monastery. And, of course, can not ignore the Palazzo Manzi in which a 1937 city hall is located. Standing on the main square of Dongo and facing the lake and the old marina, it was built in the early 19th century for the noble families Polten-Petatstsi. Inside, it is richly decorated with frescoes and stucco.
