Museum "Forest Song" is located near the forest of the village of Volyn Skuline, which is located 16 kilometers north-east of Kovel. In these parts very often as a child visited the famous Ukrainian poetess Lesya Ukrainka. It was here that in 1884, spending the summer months visiting uncle Leo, she heard a different fabulous legends of Volyn Polissya inhabitants thickets (Mavka, mermaids and devils), which inspired her to create beautiful works of literature. Next, 8 kilometers from Skulina is reserve of national importance - the tract Nechimne, which was described by L. Ukrainka in the popular poem "The Forest Song".
Even during the "late" USSR admirers L.Ukrainki built a modest house in the tract Nechimne, not far from the lake. But after a while the house burned down, and the path leading to it overgrown with bushes. For a long time, this so-called "Lessin" Polesie area was virtually inaccessible to tourists because of the off-road and marshes. And only in 2004 at the initiative of the Kovel district administration to the tract Nechimne road was built paved and equipped a small "pop music", which in later years were made poetic festivals "Forest Song". Once, on the spot where once the home of Uncle Leo, foresters built a two-storey wooden house, which in August 2004 in one of the poetic festivals museum was opened "Forest Song", whose exhibits were collected with the help of literary workers Kolodyazhnenskogo memorial museum of Lesya Ukrainka.
Today, a small museum house are books, photographs, documents and letters, through which you can learn more details about the magic corner of Volyn, as well as the interesting history of writing drama extravaganza L. Ukrainka "Forest Song".
