Museum of History and Culture Sysolsky district, located in the village of Wiesing in 1970-1990 he worked as a volunteer, and in December 1980 he was awarded the honorary title of "National Museum". In 1990, he became a state, and in 2005 - a legal entity.

In 1985, the museum has its first branch in the village Kuratovo - Museum of literary heroes "Köch Zakar Kirk" IA Kuratov. The second branch was opened in 2003. It - Memorial Museum of IP Morozova, located in the village of Mezhador.

Initially, the museum's collection Sysolsky area consisted of 36 exhibits that the museum has presented the teacher, local historian AV Holopov and his students - members of the local history circle. Most of the museum created thanks to discoveries brought from expeditions and transmitted to the museum subjects. The museum exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to get acquainted with nature, geography, history and culture of the area in detail.
