The building of the former synagogue is located right in the center of Kladno - a stone's throw from Piazza Warden Paul. This majestic building with light stone can be seen from afar. At the moment, the premises owned by the Hussite Church. Inside preserved wooden gallery for women, located on the eastern side of the temple, the original paintings and sculptures made in the nineteenth century stone on which are carved the Ten Commandments, and a copy of the crucifix, made by the Czech master Frantisek Bilek. The original crucifix kept in the cathedral of St. Vitus in Prague.
The synagogue was built in the style of novorenessansnom at the end of the XIX century by the architect from Prague Emmanuel Brandt served as a place for prayers, a large Jewish community of the city. It was not until the beginning of World War II. In 1942-1943, in the synagogue of the Jews collected for further shipment to the concentration camp Theresienstadt.
After the German occupation, the synagogue was transferred to the Czech Hussite Church. Local Jews had to go to worship in Prague. For a while, it all arranged, so no one starts talking about the return of the synagogue to the Jewish people. Then it became the norm, all used to, and is now referred to as the former synagogue.
Basement rooms, previously used for prayer in the winter season, now also not empty. There are located offices and columbarium.
To get into the synagogue simple tourist is unlikely. However, you can pretend that you have come on business, and take a curious look at a few facilities.
