Chisinau Botanical Garden - one of the main attractions of the city Chisinau, the favorite place of recreation for residents and visitors alike. The Botanical Garden was founded in 1950 at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and was located on the outskirts of the city (occupied territory of 76 ha). In 1964 it was decided to planning and construction of a new garden in Botanica.

A modern botanical garden covers an area of ​​104 hectares and is divided into several sectors - the arboretum, which shows trees, shrubs - typical representatives of the flora of Moldova, floriculture sector, tropical and subtropical plants, etc. A large part of the area allocated under the experimental plot and the Gaza hybridization.

After the last reconstruction of the park there appeared a beautiful rock garden, rose garden, shaped garden, iridary, pionary other sections. Comfort and coolness to visitors will be presented with numerous galleries, gardens, swimming pools. In the garden there are also different kinds of birds - wild ducks, thrushes, pigeons and others.

Visitors to the park can be seen in miniature relief all over Moldova, as its overall landscape - this alternation of lowlands and uplands, in which 24 species of soil. The park created four artificial lakes, the water from which is used for watering plants.

Today in Chisinau Botanical Gardens are about 10 thousand. Varieties of vegetation, it created one of the most respectable herbarium - National Herbarium, which totals 200 thousand. Sheets are constantly working on the creation of valuable populations of hybrid walnut and grapes.

Especially beautiful Botanical Garden during flowering pink magnolia (late April - early May) and during flowering Japanese cherry. The number of visitors at this time increases several times.
