Kekin House was built by architect Henry Rush commissioned merchant Leonty V. Kekin in 1903-1905 years. Construction work of four-story building going around the clock. For the first time during night work at the site was used by electric lighting.

The expressive originality of the building made him one of the attractions of the city of Kazan. There is sustained modernist style with elements of Gothic and Moorish architecture.

Until 1917 the house was Kekin apartment house. On the upper floor is the apartment rented. Here at different times housed the private gymnasium VI Ryahinoy, gymnasium of the Pedagogical Society, preparatory school, NA Benevskaya, the board of the Kazan district of Railways, SJ Library Palchinsky bookstore PV Shatalov, needle-haberdashery MR Tukhvatullina, wine and grocery A.V.Afanaseva, printing LF Gross.

After the 1917 revolution Kekin House was nationalized. Over the years, it housed: Kazan Military Commissariat, Regional department of water transport, civil construction of the Gorky Railway and dining №1.

In 2002-2004, the House Kekin reconstructed, restoring the original façade colors: light gray walls, red-brown roofs and white decorations. In the process of the reconstruction of reinforced foundation and replaced the old slab reinforced concrete. Today, the building houses offices and Brewery "Tinkoff".
