Old Castle Rybnik (translated from the Czech language - Old Pond) is located in the village of the same name on a small isthmus between two ponds, from which its name and went. Those gloomy ruins that we see now called the castle is difficult, but he had known better days, when high, thick walls and deep moat firmly defended the owners of the castle from outside intrusion.
The founder and first owner of the castle is considered a gentleman by the name of Rab. He was not a local, but in 1360 decided to settle in this village, which is more than 60 years belonged to his family. From the first construction nothing left. Descendants of Rab existing facilities rebuilt completely, then put a hand to the reconstruction of the state and its subsequent owners of the castle. From historical records, we know that it was a well-fortified fortress - a real nest, the naming is referred to as the second part of the names of its owners.
The castle consisted of several palace buildings, a high tower, viewed from the neighborhood, a prison for delinquent servants and subjects, a small chapel, where they prayed only gentlemen.
In 1792 there was a big fire which destroyed almost all buildings. What remained, exploited to the owners of the early XX century and then was abandoned, as it was easier to build a new palace, than to restore old, and that was done: not far from the ruins of the towers Ampire building that was used as the residence of the lord.
Access to the ruins of the castle opened.
