One of the most famous Czech monasteries located in the small town Touzim, which is part of the Karlovy Vary Region. The monastery is called Novy Dvur belongs to the Trappist, which is separated from the Cistercian Order. They adhere to a strict statute, and offered praise to God most of the day, almost continually silent.
Novy Dvur - a monastery of Our Lady of the building for which it was reconstructed recently - in 2002. Interestingly, the monastery itself, that is, the community of monks was established in the XVII century.
The structure, which now houses the monastery, was empty for a long time. It is located away from the city, it formerly housed the farm. Abandoned building in the Baroque style gradually destroyed by the environment. This went on for quite a long time until the Trappist monks who had come from France, did not pay him his attention. The reconstruction of the premises began in 2000. As a result, the three wings of the building were demolished and rebuilt.
When making the monastery had met the main principle of the Cistercian Order: asceticism and concise throughout. The facade devoid of any decoration, patio adorn column. All modestly and simply, nothing distracts from prayers.
Simple tourist can get to the monastery only on weekends, when its doors open to the laity.
The monastery produces delicious mustard. Its monks themselves are made from an ancient recipe. This natural product containing no preservatives, will be an excellent gift to relatives and friends.
