Vati - a charming small town in the eastern part of the island of Kalymnos. The settlement is only 12 km north-east of the island's capital - the city Potya and today is a popular resort center.

Vathi town, nestled in the green and fertile valley on the slopes of the surrounding picturesque hills, is a traditional Greek settlement. The picturesque valley stretches to the coast and ends on the banks of a very narrow natural bay where the port is located Vati - Rina. Cuts deeply into the land surrounding the bay and its high steep cliffs create an impressive sight, somewhat resembling the famous Norwegian fjords. This place is considered one of the most beautiful on the island of Kalymnos.

Today, Vati, the former quite recently only a small fishing village, has a fairly well-developed tourist infrastructure. Here you will find a good choice of accommodation and a host of excellent restaurants and taverns with a huge variety of dishes from fresh fish and seafood.

As the region has been inhabited since prehistoric times and has preserved traces of different epochs and civilizations, diversify your vacation, you can visit the local attractions - the early Christian settlement of Rina, the Byzantine church of the Assumption and Panagia Kirikos with well-preserved unique frescos dating back 11-14 for centuries, the ruins of the ancient acropolis embolism (presumably the 4th century BC), the early Christian basilica taxiarch, caves and Daskalio Stimenion, prehistoric settlement Castella and more. From the port of Vathi You can also go on an exciting boat trip along the picturesque coast of Kalymnos, and to visit the incredibly beautiful secluded bays, which can reach only by boat.
