The picturesque green area with exotic plants and a pond under the guise of Botanical Gardens Baltic Federal University Kant located in the heart of Kaliningrad. The park area of ​​about fourteen hectares is a nursery for 2, 5 thousand plants, of which 39 species are listed as endangered.

The Botanical Garden was founded in 1904, head of the department of higher plants University - Prof. Paul Keberom on the territory of the city of Königsberg gardening. The Green Zone has been formed for the practical training of students of university and school supplied Koenigsberg plants for lessons on botany. In honor of the founder of the garden was a memorial plate, which is preserved to this day. In 1938, the German fund hothouse plants had more than four thousand items. At the end of the Second World War the botanical garden was completely destroyed.

In Soviet times, the territory of Koenigsberg botanical garden was established research station green construction workers who built the new greenhouse, greenhouse restored and cleaned the pond. In 1959, the green economy were brought tropical and subtropical plants from the Botanical Gardens of Moscow, will be an incentive for future replenishment of the collection of rare species. In 1967, the nursery was handed over to the Kaliningrad University and to this day is considered his scientific division.

Today Kaliningrad Botanical Garden is a landscaped green area with a complex of greenhouses, nurseries woody plants, greenhouses, collection sites woody and herbaceous plants and a picturesque pond in the center.
