Ancient Christian temple Thaba-Yerdy located in the republic of Ingushetia Dzheyrakhsky District - one of the main attractions of the region. This ancient temple was built around the VIII Art. There is evidence that the order for the construction of the temple gave Queen Tamara.
Monument began to study back in the XVIII century. Since then, he began to enjoy great interest among tourists and scientists.
Temple Thaba-Yerdy is quite interesting architecture, its main proud to serve carving, stucco and other amazing dyeing. The temple was provided in the form of a parallelepiped with a gable roof. Its western facade is decorated with a composition with figures of Christ, the warden (people allocate money for the construction, maintenance, decoration of the temple), men (possibly the bishop), as well as vines.
Preserved and many other canonical and biblical figures, for example, with the lion, Samson. Today, however, it is difficult to say what exactly the signs and figures in the original placed on the church, because too many of them were stolen, repulsed and scattered throughout the area Dzheyrhanskomu and written evidence of how the temple was almost gone.
One of the main temple of the remarkable features is that there is almost no windows. Thaba-Yerdy illuminated through a small slit-like windows. The church interior is virtually absent except for carving on the arches. Very beautiful temple walls - a harmonious blend of different-sized stones that make up the whole wall.
Near the temple Temple Thaba-Yerdy has stone wall, built a little later. However, the main feature of the construction is a combination of the Ingush and Georgian style, making it more mysterious.
Unfortunately, the church was badly damaged by air strikes during the military conflict in Ingushetia, but it was subsequently restored.
