The National Art Museum Salar Jung, located in the beautiful city of Hyderabad, is the third largest in the whole of India. This world-famous museum with unique exhibits, the age of some of them thousands of years.

Much of the credit for the establishment of the museum belongs to the former prime minister of the Seventh Nizam of Hyderabad - Nevab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan Salar Jung III, who, because of his lack of direct heirs, decided to donate his collection of antiques, which are collected throughout his life, established his residence in a private museum Sofa LEDs, and later it was transferred to the Salar Jung. But I think that at the moment in the museum collection is not all that part of the property was sold secretly, and some is lost when moving.

Salar Jung opened its doors to visitors in 1951. It is a huge snow-white multi-storey building divided into three thematic sectors: the eastern, western and Indian cultures. These in turn are divided into 38 galleries, located on the first two floors of the building, where a variety of things on display: sculptures, paintings, textiles, furniture, ceramics, jewelry, coins. In addition to the galleries, the museum has a library, a reading room, chemical laboratory, shop.

Salar Jung has a rich collection of exhibits which has 1 million specimens collected around the world. One of the highlights of the museum is the famous room with the clock, which are assembled watch movements from different countries and different times.

In addition to the permanent exhibitions, the museum often hosts exhibitions of famous painters and sculptors.

It is not surprising that the museum Salad Joong was recognized as a national treasure of India, and is one of the most visited museums in the country.
