Citadel of Herat was named after Alexander the Great, who, according to legend, and laid it in 330 BC For many centuries it was destroyed several times and rebuilt again. In the 1950s, it would completely demolish, but changed their minds, and in the 70-ies of the means of UNESCO's newly restored.
