The Church of St. Vincent is one of the main streets in the city of Guarda, Rua Direyta. This street connects the two gates of the medieval fortress - Porta del Rey (King's Gate) and Porta da Erwa.
The Church of St. Vincent was built in the Middle Ages and was consecrated in honor of the martyr Vincent Zaragoza. But the church we see today is the result of reconstruction work that took place in 1790. Reconstruction of the church was initiated by the bishop of Guarda, and in charge of the Italian architect Antonio Fernandes Rodriguez. It is worth mentioning that Fernandes Antonio Rodriguez shortly before their participation in the reconstruction of the church became a lecturer at the College of Technical Drawing of the Casa Pia, and before that he studied and worked in Italy.
