St. Bavo is the patron saint of Ghent and in his honor was consecrated the main temple of the city. Construction of the cathedral lasted a very long time - from the 13th to the 15th century. Basically it is the Gothic style, and the crypt is made in the earlier, the Romanesque style. Of special interest is the famous altarpiece van Eyck's "Adoration of the Lamb."   I can complement the description
