Cathedral of the Resurrection in Borisov - an architectural monument of Pseudo Russian style of the XIX century, which is the hallmark of the city of Borisov.
The official groundbreaking ceremony, which was attended by the Bishop of Minsk and Bobruisk, Alexander, was held September 5, 1871. The first service at the Cathedral of the Resurrection took place October 20, 1874.
The project developed the temple of St. Petersburg architect PP Merkulov. For interior decoration and artistic painting artists were invited Vilna Elishevsky and drones.
In 1907 the bell tower was built a high brick belfry. Author of the project - Minsk architect Victor jet. The initiator of the construction was a famous philanthropist and Borisov churchwarden official Neil Burtsev.

The cathedral was built on the central square of the ancient city, which in 2002 was renamed the area the name of the 900th anniversary of Borisov. In 2002, in the square before the Cathedral was a monument to the founder of the city of Polotsk prince Boris Vseslavich.
