Chinese Aviation Museum - the largest in Asia and one in China. It is located in Changping District, near the mountain Datanshan.

The museum was opened in November 1989. Its opening was timed to the fortieth anniversary of the founding of the Republic of China Air Force. The complex is part of the caves Datyanshanya that were part of the bunker system Shahe Airbase. The length of the tunnels is half a kilometer, width - 40 meters, height - 10 meters.

The number of museum exhibits - some 300 aircraft, 200 helicopters and 13,000 samples of various types of weapons, including cultural and historical monuments. The main part of the exposed samples refers to the period of founding of the PRC, as well as during the Korean and Cold Wars.

The oldest exhibit - it's a plane Hawk-3, which supply China with the Americans in 1932. The first Soviet aircraft - I-16, mounted with a Chinese machine guns. The museum also has Japanese planes left over from the Sino-Japanese War. This, for example, Tashikava fighter-bomber Kawasaki 98 and 99. All of them have been reconstructed and repaired in time of peace after the war.

The museum also presented the first aircraft made in China - transport model Szhunyun-1, made of wood. In addition, among the exhibits there are models of airplanes that flew during World War II: Dakota C-47, P-51 Mustang and DP40-E, C-46 Commando, and the Mosquito bomber.

In the 1950-51 year, China took over from the Soviet Union, a lot of different aircraft. All of these models are now represented in the museum. This, for example, the MiG-9 and La-11, IL-10, the La-9, Yak 11 and 17 UTI MiG-15 and Tu-4 2. Not far from them is a competitor MIG-15 - Korean F-86 Sabre. This aircraft was presented to the Chinese by the Pakistani Air Force.

The museum also has aircraft completely designed by the Chinese - J-8 and 12 saved and a copy of the Chinese helicopter - Z5, which was created by the American model Bell-47, as well as several models of the Mi-8 and Mi-24. The museum is the department of air defense, engines, missiles, and other weapons.
